By train
House Alfons is 1 km from Mechelen Central Station.
From the station you can go on foot, take a taxi or take the bus to huisalfons: the centre shuttle (line 1) leaves from platform 9 and takes you 5 minutes to nearby (Korenmarkt stop).
You can also rent a bike at the train station with Blue bike.
By car
Lange Schipstraat is a pedestrian street. This means that you can only enter the street before 11h and after 18h by car. There is no parking in the street, but you can station to unload or load your luggage.
Parking
Closest parking is Parking Lamot at 150m of huisalfons (paying).
Free parking is possible at the Douaneplein parking at 1,8km of huisalfons. On Saturday there is a shuttle bus from 9 am to 7 pm from Douaneplein to the center.

House Alfons was named after its architect, Alfons Roose. We found little information about the man or the house. We do know that our house dates from the 1930s and that Alfons Roose designed several buildings in the city of Mechelen, including the toy museum and several private homes.
